Is the refresher course compulsory for all Transport Managers?
The Office of the Traffic Commissioner provides a guide on Transport Managers roles and responsibilities which is updated regularly and published on the Government website. In the recent document, it is stated that the Transport Managers are required to update their knowledge through Continuous Professional Development ( CPD). TM Refresher courses are the best method to demonstrate this commitment.
Am I going to lose my CPC qualification if I don’t complete the refresher?
Although a refresher course is not mandatory to keep the qualification, you are most likely to be required to complete the training before being accepted as a nominated Transport Manager if you passed the exam longer than 5 years ago.
Can I complete a 1-day training course instead?
The Traffic Commissioner requires Transport Managers to complete a 2 day course.
Do I need to pass the exam at the end of the course?
The certificate of completion is issued based on attendance and participation and there is no exam to complete the course. However, a number of questions and assignments will be included in the course.
